Christer Fuglesang on NASA Visit

Sweden’s first astronaut, Christer Fuglesang, joined his Discovery crewmates Nicholas Patrick and Joan Higginbotham on a recent visit to NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. From Nasa.gov:
“We [in space] worked really well with the team on the ground,” Fuglesang said. “We were given a lot of latitude, but we always sought concurrence before we made a move.”
.
…the crew needed to adhere to a rigid schedule. However, they all found time to enjoy the spectacular view from inside and outside the space station.
.
Patrick said that looking down at the world from space provided unique beauty and clarity. Fuglesang found the night views the most appealing and Higginbottam was awed by the sunrises and seeing auroras for the first time. “It was intriguing to watch their shiny lights as if they were dancing,” she explained.
