Free Broadband for Swedish Students

Coverage in central Uppsala
“Aftonbladet” reports that starting tomorrow Swedish students will have access to free wireless broadband Internet. The catch is that the coverage area is rather limited.
The service is being offered to all high school and college students in Sweden, more than 1 million altogether. All that is needed to qualify is a valid student ID.
The only problem is that service is limited to areas covered by Glocalnet’s wireless Glocalzone service. Right now that includes areas in the middle of seven Swedish cities. But in Stockholm and the smaller city of Nyköping, the only access is in a handful of coffeebars.
Glocalnet says is it expanding the service in 20 Swedish cities and hopes to be done by April.
